FAQs
What personal data will you collect from me and how will it be used?
We care about our clients and do not share your personal information with anyone other than you and your therapist. Any information collected about you will stay on a record within our practice so that we can keep track of the treatments that you have received in the past with us and relevant medical history.
To learn more about our privacy policy and about how we store your personal information, please see the page, 'Privacy Policy', on the website. There you can also download a copy of our Privacy Policy.
Are their conditions where massage is not recommended?
There are very few instances where massage is not recommended, these are known to therapists as 'contraindications'. An example of a contraindication would include being under the influence of alcohol, suffering from a fever, diarrhoea or vomiting. We could not perform a treatment if these sort of contraindications were present.

There are also 'local contraindications', which are conditions that affect a specific area of the body. For instance, a cut or bruise, or athletes foot. These forms of contraindications would mean that the treatment could be performed but it would be modified so that the therapist would avoid the specific area.

Some conditions require a medical approval before our insurance company will allow us to go ahead with the treatment. For example, if you suffer from a heart disease, asthma or epilepsy or are undergoing treatment for another medical condition from a specialist, you will be required to produce a letter from your GP stating that you are ok to receive your massage. The conditions mentioned above are only for indication, if you require further information or are concerned please contact us for guidance at:

Should I try and stay awake during my massage?
You do not need to stay awake during your treatment. It is very common to drift in and out of sleep whilst receiving a massage. It is a good sign that you are deeply relaxed and your body and muscles will gain from it. If you do nod off, your therapist will gently wake you when the treatment has come to an end or if you are required to reposition.
Will I feel any side affects after my massage?
It is common for your muscles to ache after receiving a treatment. A small number of clients feel achy, flu like or complain of headaches. This is due to all of the toxins leaving your body. These symptoms are normal and should pass within 24 hours. Drinking plenty of water will help to flush this through your system.
Will the massage be painful?
Every person is different when it comes to pressure. Whilst some may prefer deep tissue massage, others prefer light. Your therapist will check with you during the consultation process and during your treatment on how the pressure is for you, do not be afraid to say you want more or less, we want you to get the best feeling for you and your body!
Aftercare- what should I do after my treatment?
It is important to keep yourself hydrated after you have had your treatment, to flush through any unwanted toxins. You should try to keep your muscles warm and relaxed for as long as possible to feel the benefit of your treatment. Your therapist may give you some stretches to do over the next few days. It is good to practice these at they will help to keep the muscles free from tension.
Do you leave the room for me to get un/dressed?
Your privacy, dignity and comfort are important to us here! We have a special blind to stand behind whilst you get into position.
What if I am embarrassed about my body?
Our therapist is a professionally trained masseuse that has worked with many different body shapes and sizes. We should be aware that stretch marks, amount of hair, scars, disabilities, medical conditions, skin conditions, body weight, shapes and size, and so on, are all... NORMAL! We protect your modesty and cover you in towels and blankets to keep your comfort strong. If you have concerns about anything, please do get in touch!
Should I shave my legs before my treatment?
Body hair does not affect treatment. It is not essential to shave before your massage.
What should I wear?
Comfortable clothing is advised for to and from your treatment. During your treatment, you should remove your main clothing items but keep your underwear remaining. All clients must wear knickers, pants or boxer shorts at all times. Also, all jewellery should be removed before your treatment.
Do I need to bring a towel or robe?
No, everything you need for your treatment will be provided.
Is it ok to talk?
Your treatment is your valuable time and your opportunity to relax. If chatting helps you to do this then it is more than welcomed, but most clients benefit further by remaining quiet, we will not be offended by this! Usually we will not initiate conversation during treatment but will follow your lead. But again, please do talk if you want to adjust pressure etc.
Do you offer gift vouchers?
We do! These are generally for special events like mothers day, christmas, etc. You can keep up to date with these via our Facebook page! If you have someone that you would like to buy a treatment for, please do get in touch to arrange this!
